Salem Named Port Of Call For Ritz Carlton Cruise Ship
The luxury hotel brand is timing its first ship's maiden cruise to Super Bowl LIV in Miami.

SALEM, MA -- Ritz Carlton has named Salem one of the ports of call for the new, luxury yacht line it will be launching next year. Ritz Carlton expect to take delivery of its first luxury ship late next year and will offer a four-day, maiden cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, where Super Bowl LIV is being played in 2020.
The ship won't hit Salem until later in 2020 as part of a handful of itineraries in Canada and New England. Those trips will depart Halifax and visit Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Bar Harbor, Rockland and Portland in Maine and Salem before arriving in Boston.
"From coal ships to cruise ships....looking forward to 'Puttin' on the Ritz' in 2020!" Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll said in a Facebook post Thursday night. "Super excited that the new Ritz Carlton cruise line will be including Salem as a Port of Call during their maiden voyage season."
