Salem Police Chief, Superintendent To Host School Safety Summit
The second summit event is intended to inform the community about efforts made to keep students and staff safe in school.

SALEM, MA — Safety inside Salem Public Schools will be the subject of a community summit planned for Nov. 16 in the Salem High school library.
Superintendent Steve Zrike and Police Chief Lucas Miller will co-host the program planned to inform families of the steps taken to keep students and staff safe during the school day. Miller and Zrike held a similar forum following the school shooting at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas in May.
Zrike said during the summer that he wanted to hold a second meeting to update and refresh the information at the start of the new school year.

A brief presentation will be followed by an opportunity for families to ask questions of Zrike and Miller.
"While we want to share valuable information about our emergency preparedness, we also want to better understand the perspectives and ideas of the community we serve," Zrike said.
