Salem Police Logs: Kids Playing in the Street, Man Alleges He Was Attacked by Roomate

SALEM, MA — The following are excerpts from the Salem Police Logs. They do not indicate a conviction.
July 24
6:12 a.m.: An officer responded to the area of Harmony Grove Road at the Cemetery for a motor vehicle accident. Police say a Mercedes had drive through and damaged a section of the chain link fence. Investigation is ongoing.
1:36 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the area of Abbott Street for a report of kids riding bikes and scooters in the street. Police did not locate anyone.

5:23 p.m.: Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on the overpass of North Street. A man said that his car stopped short when he thought that a small child may have ran in front of his vehicle, causing the car behind him to crash into him. It was later discovered that a duck had ran in front of the vehicle and was killed in the crash. None of the three human parties were injured, but both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
9:13 p.m.: Police responded to Palmer Street and spoke with a man who said that his roommate had tried to attack him. He wanted police to go to his address so he could gather up some items and leave. Officers stood by while he packed a small back and waited for a taxi to arrive. He left without incident.

Arrests
July 25, 1:15 p.m.: Cory C. Nelson, 33, of Glendale Street in Everett was arrested on charges of shoplifting by concealing.
