Felix Lopez, 34, of Lynn, already had cases stemming from arrests in Chelsea and Peabody pending.

SALEM, MA -- Salem Police arrested Felix Lopez, 34, of Lynn, Monday after spotting him driving erratically on the Sgt. James Ayube Bypass Road. Police initially planned to charge him with driving under the influence of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and moving violations, but during booking they found 20 grams of crack cocaine and 15 grams of heroin. Police added charges of cocaine trafficking and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, Lopez was already out on bail in two other drug cases. Peabody Police arrested him on March 25 after finding 29 grams of heroin and 33 grams of cocaine. In that case, Lopez was released after Salem Superior Court Judge Timothy Feeley lowered his bail to $5,000. On May 3, he was arrested in Chelsea and charged with possession of marijuana and heroin.

On Tuesday, Lopez pleaded not guilty to the new charges. A Salem Superior Court judge revoked his bail from the two prior cases and set bail on the new charges at $100,000, according to the newspaper.
