Salem Police Responding To Report Of Teen Trying To Stab Self

SALEM, MA -- Salem Police are on scene on Nimitz Way. According to scanner reports, a 14-year-old boy was threatening to stab himself. Earlier reports suggested that the boy had stabbed or was attempting to stab himself and other people, but those reports were unfounded, according to Salem Police radio transmissions.

The first scanner report was shortly before 4 pm Monday. That report suggested that people were hiding from the boy at 5 Nimitz Way. 5 Nimitz Way is an apartment unit.
