Salem Police Take Two Landlords To Court
The owners of the Hancock Street properties are accused of "keeping a disorderly house."

SALEM, MA -- Salem Police are taking two landlords to court for complaints of "keeping a disorderly house." In their complaint, police say the house owned by Margie Mullen at 29 Hancock Street is being used as an illegal rooming house and has been the site of 11 overdoses, including one which is fatal. At 16 and 16 1/2 Hancock Street, police have responded to loud parties and made several arrests at the apartments owned by Harvey and Lesly Linder of Saugus.
Sgt. Harry Rocheville told the Salem News, which first reported this story, the complaints are a last resort. Mullen, three of her grown children and several other people live at the property. Mullen's son, Kevin Eekhoff told the newspaper the complaints were a "vendetta" against his family. "This is harassment," he said.
