Alternative Therapies Group could open as soon as Saturday, making it the first recreational marijuana store in Eastern Massachusetts.

SALEM, MA — The first recreational marijuana retailer in Eastern Massachusetts is set to open. Alternative Therapies Group, or ATG, will open Saturday, Dec. 15, after receiving the thumbs-up it needed from the Cannabis Control Commission.

The City of Salem said customers should make online appointments in order to visit the store. They are advised to take the commute rail to Salem and take the ATF shuttle bus to the store.

There will be temporary resident-only parking zones in the areas closest to the store, located at 50 Grove St.
