Salem Resident Hired as Director of ArcWorks Art Center

Susan Dodge To Lead Art Center In Peabody Run By The Northeast Arc

The Northeast Arc, a not-for-profit organization that helps children and adults with disabilities become full participants in the community, has hired Susan Dodge of Salem as Director of the ArcWorks Community Art Center in Peabody.

In her role, Dodge will be responsible for scheduling gallery shows at both the art center and Breaking Grounds, the coffee shop in Peabody run by the Northeast Arc. She will also create curriculum and teach various forms of art to people served by the Northeast Arc during the day while offering community classes in the evening.

“In addition to being a fan of her art, Susan’s skills, experience and technical knowledge fit perfectly within the scope of where ArcWorks is currently, and the vision we have for the future,” said Tim Brown, Director of Innovation and Strategy, Northeast Arc. “Susan has vast experience in clay and pottery, painting, instruction, and management, as well as an understanding of the mission of the Northeast Arc and its connection to ArcWorks.”

Dodge holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

“I look forward to sharing my love of art and teaching with the people served by the Northeast Arc and the entire community,” said Dodge. “ArcWorks is an incredible community asset where I hope more people will join our creative hub and take advantage of all it has to offer. I believe that everyone is an artist at their core, if given the opportunity to find their medium, learn techniques, and let their creativity flow.”
