Salem Residents Get Their Share Of Halloween Fun On Mayor's Night Out

The evening includes free entry to museums and attractions, and garage parking, for Salem residents only.

SALEM, MA — Salem residents are invited to come downtown and enjoy a Halloween night of free entry to museums and attractions, free parking, and other discounts as part of the Mayor's Night Out.

Residents with identification showing proof of Salem residency can access the freebies and discounts at attractions starting at 3 p.m. with parking in the Museum Place Mall Garage and South Harbor Garage free to Salem residents as of 2 p.m. Proof of residency will be required upon exiting the garages.

Students can use a Salem school identification card, bus pass or a Salem Public Library card.

"Mayor's Night Out has become a great tradition for Salem residents," Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll said. "October is a busy time for our businesses, and this is their way to say thank you to our residents."

The night will include new programming at the East India Square fountain, trick-or-treating at downtown businesses and special costumed guests. KIT KAT is an event sponsor and will be distributing goodies as well.

There are more than 50 merchants near the Museum Place Mall, Essex Street Pedestrian Mall and Pickering Wharf participating in this year's trick-or-treat, which begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Salem law firm of Mazow | McCullough, PC will distribute safety flasher lights to help keep little trick-or-treaters safe and seen, Broad Smiles Pediatric Dentistry will give out toothbrushes, and the Creative Collective will play family-friendly Halloween music and offer photo backdrops to allow for plenty of pictures.
