Salem Seeks Volunteers For New Senior Medical Transport Program
The program is looking for those willing to drive seniors to medical appointments in conjunction with the Salem Council on Aging.
SALEM, MA — A new program in Salem aims to help seniors with transportation to and from medical appointments.
The Salem Council on Aging, in conjunction with Salem For All Ages, is looking for volunteer drivers to provide rides to appointments. Drivers would provide transportation only and would not be involved in the passenger's medical care.
The goal of the Medical Escort Volunteer Driver Program is to supplement the existing Council on Aging transportation program by filling voids around COA coverage and operating hours.
