Salem State To Host Dibble/Driscoll Mayoral Debate

SALEM, MA — Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll and Ward 7 City Councilor Steve Dibble will discuss the issues facing the city head-to-head on Oct. 18 when Salem State University hosts a mayor's race debate at the Frederick E. Berry Institute of Politics.

A panel of Salem State students will question the candidates at the debate open to school students, faculty, staff and members of the city community.

The debate is set for 7:30 p.m. with doors at the Sophia Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts on Lafayette Street open at 6:45.

Driscoll and Dibble were the top two vote-getters among a three-way race during the Sept. 14 primary.

The Berry Institute of Politics aims to engage and inspire a diverse community of learners to pursue careers in political and public service. The institute leads Salem State’s voter engagement; hosts political discussions and debates; support students with career interests in politics and public service ands award competitive scholarship offerings in the areas of government, politics, civic engagement, non-profit and other means of public service.
