Salem Students Earn Bishop Fenwick Baccalaureate, Underclass Awards
Students from Salem were recognized at Bishop Fenwick for academic, athletic and service awards.
SALEM, MA — Salem students were among those recognized at Bishop Fenwick during the school's recent Baccalaureate and Underclass Awards ceremony, with honors spanning academics, athletics, service and world languages.
In the Class of 2026, Jacob Pena received the Henry Breckenridge Memorial Scholarship. The award is given to a student who embraces academic achievement, intellectual curiosity and an unwavering commitment to service.
Anne Swanson was recognized with the Bishop Benedict Joseph Fenwick Award.

Marcus Simon received the Student-Athlete Award, which recognizes students who best combine athletic talent with academic ability.
Nondas Lagonakis received the Donaldson Award, given to a male member of a sports team who demonstrated spirit, determination and example rather than just ability. Lagonakis ran cross country and track and received the student-athlete of the month award in January.

Genevieve DePasquale, also from the Class of 2026, was recognized for Pursuit of Excellence in World Language.
Several Salem students also were honored in the underclass awards.
Isabella Gandra, a member of the Class of 2027, received the Rachel Carson Healthy Planet Award for dedication to sustainability and community development. Virginia Cahill, also in the Class of 2027, was recognized for Academic Excellence in Artificial Intelligence.
Nicholas Cormier of the Class of 2028 received Academic Excellence in Spanish II CP1. Michael Santiago, also in the Class of 2028, was honored for Academic Excellence in French I and Theology II. Noelle Lander of the Class of 2029 received Academic Excellence in Biology CP1.
Nolan Topp, a member of the Class of 2027, received the Suffolk University Book Award. That award is presented to a student who exemplifies a commitment to their education and school community.
The recognition highlights a range of student achievement at Bishop Fenwick, from classroom performance to athletics and community involvement. The awards list identifies Salem students across multiple grade levels and areas of study, reflecting the school’s recent recognition of both graduating and underclass students.
