Salem Students Honored At Assumption, Hamilton, Holy Cross, SNHU, WPI

These Salem students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions.

SALEM, MA — These Salem students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.

On May 13, Victoria Rindeiko, who majored in Interactive Media and Game Development, was bestowed a bachelor's degree at WPI's 154th Commencement. Nearly 1,100 undergraduate degrees were awarded during the ceremony.

Rindeiko, a member of the class of 2023 majoring in Interactive Media and Game Development at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), recently completed a senior thesis that is required of all graduating seniors as part of the university's distinctive project-based educational experience. The project, Django Unplugged, was her Major Qualifying Project (MQP), one that is usually team-based and often focuses on very specific issues or needs of an organization that has partnered with the university to sponsor the student's work.

Rindeiko was also named to the Dean's List.

Jimmy Espinal, class of 2025, majoring in Architectural Engineering.

Kaelin Panneton, class of 2024, majoring in Computer Science.

The following Salem students earned their degrees at Regis College:

Abigail Bren of Salem graduated with a AS in Nursing.

Shannon Doherty graduated with a AS in Nursing.

Hannah Louf graduated with a AS in Nursing.

Samantha Plastino graduated with a AS in Nursing.

Alexia Palm graduated with a AS in Dental Hygiene.

Kimberly Ciccolini graduated with a BS in Nursing.

Rebecca Dalphin was named the recipient of The G. Harvey Cameron Memorial Prize at Hamilton College's annual Class & Charter Day, held on May 9. Established in 1950, the event combines the traditional Class Day celebrating the end of classes with a commemoration of the granting of the College's charter on May 26, 1812.

The ceremony features an address by a historian, trustee, graduate, or faculty member whose topic is related to Hamilton's history and traditions. Academic and scholarly achievement prizes are awarded to students and faculty.

The G. Harvey Cameron Memorial Prize is awarded to that first-year student or sophomore who shows the most promise in experimental physics.

Dalphin, a sophomore majoring in physics, is a graduate of Lexington High School.

Brooke Rowell was been named to Southern New Hampshire University's Winter 2023 President's List. The winter terms run from January to May.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List.

Skylar Angell, Kianna Madden, Lindsay Moreta, Ian Paskowski and Mawloda Khudaynazar were named to the SNHU Dean's List. Dean's List students had a GPA between 3.5 and 3.69.

Andrew Kil, Emily Blackwelder, Jason Gillis, Madelyn Ambler and Tatiana Esposa were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines, at Salem State University.

Sarah Curley was initiated into the University of Massachusetts-Lowell Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. The Society welcomed 1,869 new initiates from 78 universities during April 2023.

Students initiated into the Society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate/professional students in the top 35 percent of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars, and embrace the ODK ideals. Fewer than five percent of students on a campus are invited to join each year.

Dennis Ryan was inducted into Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) Honor Society, a national honor society recognizing the achievements of first-generation students, alumni, staff, faculty and administrators. Ryan, a member of the Class of 2023, was one of 67 students inducted into Delta Omicron, the honor society's Holy Cross chapter.

Founded in 2018, Tri-Alpha promotes academic excellence and provides members with a multitude of benefits, including opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, campus and community service and the opportunity to receive mentoring from more senior first-generation students, as well as faculty, staff and alumni who were first-generation students.

Kahlil Mitchell-Smith was named to the 2023 spring semester Dean's List at Ohio Wesleyan University.

To earn Dean's List recognition, Ohio Wesleyan students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale in all applicable classes.

Assumption University announced Michael Santana was named to the University's Dean's List for the spring 2023 semester. Students named to the Dean's List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list, which is announced at the completion of the fall and spring semesters.
