Salem teachers invited to propose grants

Salem Education Foundation will fund grants for projects in Salem public schools.

Pre-K children learn about water as part of a 2002-2003 grant, A River
Runs Through Us, awarded to teacher Beth White. SEF awards approximately $25,000 in grants that affect over half of Salem students each year.

Salem Education Foundation invites Salem teachers to apply for a grant to benefit students in the 2023-24 school year. Teachers may also partner with community groups to submit applications. Projects may benefit students in district schools or Salem Academy Charter School.

SEF funds grants up to $1000 for creative projects that go beyond the scope of the regular school budget and up to $3000 for collaborative grants that benefit two or more schools. We look for grants that improve student achievement, inspire creativity and student engagement, present curriculum in a unique setting, and promote special projects in STEM, the arts, literacy, social studies and leadership, health and wellness, and others. We value grants that promote equity.

The application form can be found at salemeducationfoundation.org. Applications are due by November 16th, 2023.
