Salem Water Trouble Amid Pumping Station Malfunction
Crews were working Thursday afternoon to repair the issue at the Highland Avenue station.
SALEM, MA — Salem residents were told to expect the possibility of a loss or drop in water service as crews responded to what the Department of Public Services called "an unanticipated mechanical issue" at the water pumping station on Highland Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
Residents were told to expect a possible service disruption while repairs were taking place.
Brown water could be expected on Thursday. Residents who experience brown water were advised to keep the hot water off and run cold water until it runs clear.
