Salem's The Cove Hotel Reopens One Day After 4-Alarm Fire

Hotel management said no one was injured during the Monday morning blaze in one building of the recently renovated hotel.

SALEM, MA — Salem's The Cove Hotel partially reopened on Tuesday — one day after a four-alarm fire in one of its buildings.

Hotel management said in a statement to Patch on Tuesday that one of the buildings in the recently renovated hotel was not damaged in the fire and was reopened to guests.

No one was injured in the four-alarm blaze that required mutual aid from several surrounding cities and towns.

Management said the fire was reported at about 10 a.m. and that all occupied rooms in the building were quickly evacuated.

"All guests were safely accounted for while the Salem Fire Department and neighboring towns worked to contain, extinguish, and investigate the incident," the statement said. "Following the fire
department's swift response, all guests were safely relocated."

The statement said future stays reserved at the hotel "will not be affected by this incident."

"We are incredibly grateful to all Salem first responders, local mutual aid, hotel ownership, our Lark team members, and the community," said Lark CEO Peter Twachtman. "This was an unfortunate event, but it is heartening to see our community come together to ensure everyone's safety and well-being

"We will continue to update our neighbors and the community as the investigation unfolds."

The Bridge Street hotel underwent a full redesign in 2023.
