SALEM, MA — A 300-year-old cemetery in Salem may be due for further expansion, and city officials are looking for the public's help in developing a master plan for that and other improvements.

The 55-acre Greenlawn Cemetery was first used in 1807 and enlarged in the mid-1800s. The cemetery was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places as a Level 1 Arboretum.

It is the first publicly owned cemetery in Massachusetts to earn this designation.
