Salem's Haunted Happenings: 5 Things to Do During Oct. 15 Weekend

The Derby Street Carnival kicked off Friday, and there are other fun events going on in the city as well. Here are five notable events.

SALEM, MA — Another fun and busy weekend is afoot for residents and visitors of the Witch City, as October and Halloween continues to roll on.

Here are five events that you should check out this weekend. Also, residents and visitors are urged to avoid driving and parking in the city. You should additionally take note of traffic impacts this weekend.

Derby Street Carnival

The carnival began Friday, and will continue to roll on this weekend. Festivities run from 12 to 10 p.m. daily.

Acoustic in the Air Fair at the Fountain Stage

This fun acoustic music festival features a nearly hourly performance on Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m.

Alex Vincent from "Child's Play" Appearance

Count Orlock's Nightmare Gallery will feature an appearance from Child's Play star Alex Vincent.

MDA Halloween Witch Ride

Rescheduled from last weekend, this event features a motorcycle ride from Revere to Salem from 12 to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Princess Monster Mash

From 12 to 3 p.m. Sunday, your favorite princesses will be hosting a kid's monster mash in a castle-themed room. There will be a costume contest where every child is awarded a prize. Entry is $35.
