Salem's Lucky Streak Extended With Latest $1 Million Lottery Winner

The third $1 million instant ticket sold in the Witch City in the past month was sold at Armas Convenience Store on Jefferson Avenue.

SALEM, MA — Salem's status as the city to be when you are looking to scratch off a big-money instant ticket lottery winner gained another boost in recent days with the third sale of a $1 million winner in about one month.

Francisca Uceta De Placencio won the prize in the $10 instant "$4,000,000 Monopoly Doubler" game.

De Placenio chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She said she plans on investing and helping her family with the winnings.

She purchased her winning ticket at Armas Convenience Store, 247 Jefferson Avenue in Salem. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

A Salem woman and Peabody man both claimed prizes from tickets bought in Salem in recent weeks with each taking the one-time payment valued at about $650,000 before taxes.

Nancy Diamond, of Salem, won a $1 million prize in the $5 "$1,000,000 Stacks of Cash" game. She said she plans to buy a new car with her winnings.

She bought her ticket at Nicole's Food Store on Essex Street. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

Frederico Sampaio, of Peabody, was the winner of the fourth and final $1 million prize in the "Double Your Money" instant ticket game. Sampaio said he plans to put his winnings toward his family.

His winning ticket was bought at RX3 Energy located on Bridge Street in Salem. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
