SALEM, MA — Sunday's snowy forecast means the cancellation of a popular Salem community event.

City officials said on Friday that the annual Dead Horse Beach Christmas tree bonfire has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

Waste Management will pick up trees curbside next week (beginning Jan. 8) and should be put out by 7 a.m. each morning.

Trees can also be brought to Castle Hill Park on Story Road until Jan. 31 or to Palmer Cove Community Garden.

Residents are asked not to bring additional trees to Dead Horse Beach.
