State Rep. Manny Cruz Launches Re-Election Campaign

The former Salem school committee member will host a campaign kickoff event on March 28.

SALEM, MA — State Rep. Manny Cruz launched his re-election campaign to represent the Witch City on Beacon Hill for another two years.

Cruz, who previously served on the Salem School Committee, was elected to represent the 7th Essex representative in 2022.

"As your State Representative, I am proud to have fought alongside you to preserve our democracy, to protect our immigrant neighbors, to honor our commitments to a clean energy future, and to uphold our values on Beacon Hill," Cruz said.

Cruz worked in government as a staffer to former Rep. Paul Tucker and Rep. Juana Matias, worked for four years as a Salem Maritime National Park Service ranger, and two years as the Chair of Gov. Deval Patrick's Statewide Youth Council.

He has also served on the Boards of LEAP for Education, Plummer Youth Promise, MA Alliance for Early College and the Northshore Community Action Programs, and was a member of the Salem Race Equity Task Force.

Upon election to the state House of Representatives, Cruz held onto his school committee seat until this past election cycle when he opted not to run for re-election there.

Cruz said he will host a campaign launch event on March 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Finz Seafood and Grill.
