Swampscott's Town Clerk, Communications Director Resign
Town Administrator Sean Fitzgerald said Susan Duplin and Allie Fiske have accepted employment opportunities elsewhere.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott will be looking to fill two more key positions in town government after Town Administrator Sean Fitzgerald said Town Clerk Susan Duplin and Assistant Town Administrator Allie Fiske are both leaving for other employment opportunities.
Duplin has been the town clerk for the past 12 years.
"She's done an amazing job in Swampscott," Fitzgerald said. "I'm excited for her. She's taking a new position in North Reading closer to (her) home. But, certainly, that will leave a big hole in the hearts and minds (here in Swampscott)."

Fiske came to Swampscott from Medford's Business & Cultural office three years ago as the assistant town administrator and Director of Communications & Strategic Initiatives. Over the past two years of the COVID-19 health crisis, Fiske was critical in helping to keep town officials connected to residents through outreach and remote meetings.
"She has been, in many ways, an indispensable part of town government over the past two years," Fitzgerald said. "When I think about this pandemic, it's hard for me to think that anybody would have done more to help. Not only communicate with the public but ensure that departments were connected and supported.

"Allie has been, frankly, an amazing colleague and I'm pleased that she has been able to find a wonderful opportunity to contribute more to a passion of hers, and frankly that's just helping people. She's going to be missed.
"I certainly wanted to recognize her for her amazing contributions to Swampscott."
