One of the things about springtime that has always made me enthusiastic about people in general are the positive feelings that we so often elicit between one another at this time of the year! Yes this is going to be one of those “goody-two-shoes” moments of thought that tend to come about when the weather turns bright and the sun again casts a-warm-light!
Even between those who for their own reasons just don’t seem to get along with each other, when the sun rises higher in the sky melting the wintertime snows and turning them into running nutrients for the Earth, we all seem to cast a wider common smile and turn our eyes toward the sky looking at the blue in an expectant fashion!
Wintertime can be rather straining on the spirit after awhile and there are few in this region of the world who would know this better than we New Englander’s!

We have all passed through the storms and the raging seas, all the fields and the shadowed mountainsides are shedding their grey appearance and our world is preparing to dawn into a glorious growing green again!
One of the things I think that I love the most about the onset of spring are the positive features that we seem to naturally absorb about it being an integral part of the path of nature that surrounds us all! It really does keep us all moving to the core heartbeat of life!

Just the other day I was moving about doing some personal morning errands and as I was crossing a busy intersection of automobiles careening their way down the road I noticed how people seem to be a bit more polite to one another lately. Where tempers would no doubt flare up a bit more, courtesy now grabbed a-hold and smiles were more easily exchanged between souls in a polite expression of pleasantry.
When I took notice of these kind acts between people I immediately found myself thinking how really easy a thing it is to take just a moment of time out of our day in order to be polite to one another instead of casting a knee-jerk reaction of bitterness instead.
It wasn’t all that long ago when the autumn season was coloring the landscape and we were all looking to nature to fill our senses with the crisp scents of fall and the tastes of apple cider and of pumpkin muffins!
It was on such a bright sunny day back only then, where my thoughts returned to a time when I was slowly walking my way down Essex Street with my two favorite friends and family in all the entire world! This was a time that also took on a special tone which no doubt some are now pondering the question; “why?”
It was while on this foray of fine friendship where I also took a special note of the general feelings of fine fellowship that were being exchanged between people all over the place! I remember it was almost as if it were taken from a scene from a Dickens film! All heads nodded between one another, smiles were forwarded to one another as people passed each other by. Doors left and right were being held in polite expressions of respect and as we entered shops all along our way I heard the same words of welcome and passing as both gentlemen and ladies all excused themselves between each other when in such a close browsing proximity.
The sense of general respect and adoration for the season seemed to be absorbed by everyone!
Now here again, I noticed this same flowing spirit between people that yes, is always there in vogue form, but sometimes it becomes rather weathered with the emotional and tense tides of the passing seasons.
When returning my thoughts to the circle casting on the common and the centered good will and energy in spirit that gathers between souls in my favorite season of the year at the end of October, I remind myself that the return of the sun and the warm guided spirit that is associated with springtime is but another time for us all to remember, that every place we call our home, every place we visit and frequent for a time, and everywhere we encounter one another is another chance to share the warm spirit that accompanies the spirit of springtime that fills our spirits with the tone we truly want to bring into our lives each and every day!
It doesn’t take a celebration or a special season to bring this out in us all though I too am certainly guilty of focusing my attention especially in a tone of good will when amidst my own special spiritual times of the year!
The thing I too need to try and remember is that every day, in every season, between all I encounter are also special times of the year!
It’s all cast into an attitude that I paint across myself and in my daily experience of my life!
So, as you are headed out today, perhaps to the Pedestrian Mall for a bit of shopping, or perhaps going out taking a nature walk with your family, maybe your taking a leisurely ride in the country or even going out for a relaxing dinner, try to remember that as your appreciating the onset of spring along with all of its splendor, that it will be all the better with a bit of community courteous spirit along your way!
