Utility Work at Riley Plaza Gets Underway This Week
The public parking lot in front of 219-239 Washington Street will be closed for the duration of the project.

SALEM, MA - Salem will be beginning a utility replacement project on Dodge Street and Washington Street in Riley Plaza on January 11. The project will involve the replacement of sewer, drain, and water pipes in Dodge Street and in Washington Street (from Canal Street to Dodge Street).
Staging area and traffic controls set-up is scheduled to take place on January 11 and the work is estimated to be complete by June 30, 2016, weather permitting. The project will entail the closure of the public parking lot in front of #219-239 Washington Street for the duration of the construction.
Normal working hours for the project will be 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., however some extended hours and night work will be required. During this project, the work area will be an active construction site and drivers should proceed with caution. Please note that temporary traffic signage and barriers impacting lane locations will be in place. No parking zones will also be in effect in the construction area. Police details will be present to assist everyone through the work zone and to facilitate traffic management.
