SALEM, MA—Approximately 1,000 homes in the Salem Willows neighborhood will be shut off Thursday night into Friday Morning, according to a report by the Salem News.

The Salem News reports that city workers are planning to install two new large valves, which aim to help isolate water main breaks in the future. Work will take place from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Friday.

According to the report, the affected area includes all of Fort Avenue, Memorial Drive, Winter Island road and the entire Willows neighborhood. Residents living in close proximity to the valve locations may notice slight discoloration in their water when it is turned back on.
