Looking to resurface your floors?

When looking to resurface your floors, it is important to ask all of the necessary questions before you begin. Start by figuring out the size of the room, what function the room will serve and what material will be most beneficial. We often have customers come in to our store wanting to renovate their home, but haven't figured out the logistics yet. Answering a few simple questions will help us effectively and efficiently get your project done right.

The first question to ask yourself is what size is the room I want to update. This is when a tape measure and a friend come in handy. Make sure you record the measurements and bring them into the store. Guessing will not help anyone and will ultimately impede the process. If you don't have a tape measure or want to leave it to the professionals, we can help you out. We offer free in-home estimates and will take the measurements for you.

The next question to ask is, what will the function of the room be. It might be an easy question such as a kitchen or bathroom, but spare rooms get a little more complicated. Will the room serve as a bedroom, study room or playroom? Depending on the purpose of the room, you will want different flooring materials. You probably don't want tile in a bedroom and stay away from white carpets in a playroom.

The last question to ask is what else do you need to complete the room? Maybe it's a light fixture or a new coat of paint. A new chandelier in the dining room might warrant beautiful hardwood floors. Consider what will be added to the room in order to help you pick your flooring materials.
