Obituary: Elizabeth (Ruth) R. (Brett) Mizher

Elizabeth (Ruth) R. (Brett) Mizher, age 92, of Swansea died April 14, 2013 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Abdellah H. Mizher.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Michael J. Brett, Sr. and Alice (Brennan) Brett, she lived in the Maplewood section of Fall River prior to moving to Swansea in 1977. She was a 1937 graduate of BMC Durfee High School.

Mrs. Mizher worked as a stitcher for the former Harco for 44 years, retiring in 1982. She was also a member of the I.L.G.W.U.

She was a talented painter and seamstress and a beloved mother and grandmother.

Surviving are three daughters: Dorothy Hinnant of Port Richey, FL, Carol Mizher and Patricia Kloch and her husband Richard J. all of Swansea, sister: Patricia Machado of Fairfax, VA, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Michael J. Brett, Jr., Marion Laurianno, Dorothy Faria and Louise Brett.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 9 a.m. from the Waring Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea with a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea.

Visiting hours Wednesday are 4-7p.m. Contributions in her honor may be made to Southcoast Hospice, 200 Mill Rd. Fairhaven, 02719. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
