• Sowams Heritage Area Plan Reaches Barrington Council (upriseri.com) — Seekonk is one of nine communities included in a proposed Sowams National Heritage Area, with town records showing it helped circulate information on the study and public comment period. The plan, now under National Park Service review, would not change local zoning or property rights but could open doors to federal support for preservation, education, tourism, and economic development projects across the region.
