Plan Ahead for Berkley Dighton Bridge Construction Work
Work is scheduled to begin on Thursday and will mean detours.

From MassDOT:
Beginning Thursday, MassDOT will begin work that requires detours at the Berkley-Dighton Bridge.
The Berkley Dighton Bridge will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 13 and Friday, Nov. 14 from the hours of 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., on Friday from the hours of 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 15 from the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Traffic from Dighton to Berkley will head north along MA-138 N and turn right onto 5th St to Continue onto W Water St. From there traffic will head southeast on Plain St toward E Water St, and continue south on E Water St toward Berkley St. Making a sight left onto Berkley St, traffic will follow through the end of the detour arriving at the Berkley St/Elm St intersection.
Traffic from Berkley to Dighton will head northeast on Berkley St toward Desautels Ct, making a slight right onto E Water St. From there traffic will head northwest on Plain St toward W Water St, and after that travel southwest on W Water St toward Staples Ave. Making a light right onto 5th St, traffic will turn left onto Somerset Ave, continue onto Lawton Ave, and continue onto MA-138 S/Somerset Ave arriving at the Center Street intersection.

Work for the bridge requires crane assembly and deliveries along with the start of the pre-cast arch assembly.
MassDOT encourages drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to minimize delays. Those traveling through the area should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution while traveling along the detour routes.
