WESTPORT, MA — Authorities on Thursday identified the three people killed in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 195 in Westport Wednesday. The crash happened with a Regal Transit van veered across the median and struck a BMW sedan, according to state police.
Two people in the Dodge Caravan were killed — the driver, John Oliveria, 68, of Dartmouth, and a passenger, Josephine Mazzocca, 55, of New Bedford. A passenger in the BMW — Karonlyne Lima, 23, of New Bedford — was also killed.
Police said it's possible Oliveria suffered a "medical incident" in the moments leading up to the crash.
