On March 7, 2017 several family members of a 93-year-old resident of the Wingate at Sharon told police that she was being physically abused by staff members. Hidden camera footage shows the two suspects forcefully moving the victim from a bed to a wheelchair and at one point, jerking her head back.

Police say they are working with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health on this matter, and the management at Wingate has been cooperative during the course of the investigation. Wingate tells WFXT that the two workers have been fired.
