Congratulations to Courtney Hebert, David Wang, Renee Yang, and Kevin Zhang for their acceptance to the Massachusetts South East Senior District Band. All four are clarinet students of Elizabeth Leehey.
Senior District Auditions are open to students in grades 9 through 12. This year’s audition was on November 23 and the audition piece for clarinet players was the first movement of the Hindemith Sonata. Students were also judged on scales and sight reading.
These students will participate in the Senior District Festival January 10 -11, 2014. The festival includes performances by the District Band, Orchestra, Chorus and Jazz Band.

Additional congratulations go to David Wang, Renee Yang and Kevin Zhang for receiving All State recommendations. Students who score in the top 50% of those accepted to Senior District receive a recommendation to audition for the Massachusetts All State Band. The audition will be January 25th and this year’s audition piece for clarinet players is the first movement of the Brahms Sonata No. 2 in E flat.
