Duo Kicked In Door At Econolodge, Assaulted Guests Inside Room: Police
Police say James Archer and Joshua King invaded a room at a motel and threw a hammer through a window.

SHARON, MA — An early morning hammer throw has resulted in charges for two men, police said.
James Archer, 25 of Stoughton and Joshua King, 26, of Canton, were arrested Tuesday and charged with home invasion, destruction of property, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, disturbing the peace, and disorderly conduct, according to the Sharon Police Department.
At about 1 a.m. on June 5, officers responded to the Econolodge on Route 1 near the Walpole-Sharon line for a report of a hammer thrown through a room window. Police say the two men fled the scene but an investigation revealed that Archer and King allegedly kicked in the room door and physically assaulted the people inside.

The victims didn't suffer any serious injuries, but a knife and a hammer were involved, police said.
Police say the incident was not random.

The two were arrested on June 6. Both men were arraigned in Stoughton District Court and ordered held without bail. They are due back in court June 27.
