2012 Walk to End Alzheimer's Planned

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22 at Walpole's Bird Middle School.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. The walk begins at 10 a.m.

The walk is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. It is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and 11 locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

The event will include a Promise Garden, vendors, educational materials, volunteer opportunities, raffles, entertainment and food. 

The 3.5-mile walk travels up a main road, through Bird Park, and then through a residential neighborhood. There is also an option to walk around a 500-foot cul-de-sac at the school within the main event area.

There are no fees or fundraising minimums for this event. Walkers who raise $150 will earn a Walk to End Alzheimer's T-shirt.

Animals are allowed.
