Bird Park Hosts Halloween Event

The Trustees of Reservations will host the 8th Annual Pumpkins in the Park at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at Francis William Bird Park in East Walpole.

Join the celebration of Halloween by visiting the park with a carved pumpkin and small candle as the ponds and
walkways in the park are lit with jack-o-lanterns.

Guests should bring a pumpkin to the registration table on Rhoades Avenue near the Willow Pond. After receiving a voting ballot and placing the pumpkin in the park, guests can take a stroll throughout the park to view the other pumpkins and vote for their favorite carving. The winning pumpkin will be announced at the conclusion of the evening.

A storyteller will also be visiting to tell ghost stories. Games will be set-up for younger children to play. Costumes are welcome and Halloween treats will be provided. The event is free for all visitors.
