Friends of Sharon Library Offer January Cultural Field Trip

The Friends of the Sharon Public Library's January 2012 field trip destination is the Providence Athenaeum in
Providence (www.providenceathenaeum.org).

This independent membership library opened in 1838 and is the only New England building designed by Philadelphia architect William Strickland.

The registration deadline is Monday, Jan. 9. The bus leaves the Sharon Public Library at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12.

There are stairs (no elevators) between the floors that the group will visit on the tour of the Athenaeum; the building is not handicapped accessible.
