Godfrey Auto Holds Annual Children's Hospital Fundraiser/Yard Sale

Samantha Godfrey will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Godfrey Auto Inc. to help raise more than $5,000 for Peripheral Nerve Sheath Sarcoma research at Children's Hospital Boston.

Godfrey's boyfriend, Mark Rogers, suffers from this rare cancerous disease, and has had his surgeries and treatments at Children's. The couple feels the hospital staff has gone above and beyond to take care of it, and the couple would like to give back. Rogers has been in remission three times and is undergoing chemotherapy to shrink the three tumors.

Last year's event raised over $2,000. Organizers are accepting donations of items to be sold, and volunteers are welcomed.

During the event, there will be food and baked goods for sale. There will also be activities for children of all ages. At 2 p.m., organizers will be drawing tickets for the raffle winners that have entered to win a basket of their choice.
