NICE Offers Postage Stamp Lecture

Henry Lukas, director of education and community education at the Museum of Stamps and Postal History, will present "You Can Learn a Lot From the Corner of an Envelope," the Norton Institute for Continuing Education's fourth free lecture of the 2011 - 2012 academic year, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 at Wheaton College's Watson Fine Arts Building, Ellison Lecture Hall, Room 102, 26 East Main St., Norton.

Lukas will present a history of the use of stamps and the postal system. Hear how a stamp almost started a South American War and learn about movies that have stamp themes, famous people on stamps, rules about whose picture gets on a stamp, and strange postal stories. Each attendee will take home a free packet of stamps.
