The Friends of the Sharon Public Library’s Oct. 1 field trip is Castle Hill on the Crane Estate in Ipswich (http://www.thetrustees.org/places-to-visit/northeast-ma/castle-hill-on-the-crane.html).
There will be a guided tour of the 59-room Stuart-style mansion, known as the Great House, designed by architect David Adler and built in 1928. After the tour, visitors may choose either a self-guided landscape tour, or lunch at one of several restaurants in Ipswich (lunch is not included in registration fee).
