Walk To Remember Promotes Ovarian Cancer Awareness

The Walk To Remember will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 17 at Dowses Beach, 348 East Bay Road, Osterville.

The 5K walk raises awareness for ovarian cancer through The Ribbons To Remember Foundation.

The walk is in memory of Sheryl Skerry, a Cotuit resident who passed away in June but was unaware of the symptoms of ovarian cancer until she had only five weeks left to live. Her daughter, Diane Riche, founded the Ribbons To Remember Foundation to educate and raise awareness of the “silent” ovarian cancer symptoms in hopes of preventing any other women and their loved ones from enduring the pain and heartbreak that is ovarian cancer.
