The Xaverian Brothers High School tennis team will hold a free clinic for boys in grades five through eight from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Wednesday, April 17 and April 18, at the new tennis courts, at 800 Clapboardtree St., Westwood.
Coach Michael Mowatt will run the clinic along with members of the Hawks team that has qualified for the MIAA State Tournament the last four years.
The clinic will consist of several different drills which will concentrate on tennis strategy, technique and mental toughness. Each participant will be guaranteed one on one attention and will participate in group drills along with match play in the second half of the clinic. Participants will have breaks to re-hydrate and a snack break at 10:30 a.m. Along with supervised match play, some of the games included will be King of the Court, Tug of War, Triple Threat, Hat Trick, and Around the World.
