Family Adventures in Reading Comes to the Sharon Public Library
Kids, Free, Events, Literacy
The Sharon Public Library is thrilled to host a Family Adventures in Reading (FAIR) series this summer!
FAIR is a unique opportunity for families to experience outstanding and thought-provoking children's picture books. The books represent diverse authors and themes, including Palestinian, Hispanic, LGBTQ, Chinese American, and African American titles.
Storyteller Karen Chase will bring the books to life through a lively reading of the book followed by an in-depth discussion. Families will also enjoy a healthy snack and make a craft. At the end of each program, families will receive a copy of the book to keep.

The FAIR series will run for 6 weeks during the summer, as part of the Summer Reading Program at the Sharon Public Library. The Summer Reading Program combats summer learning loss by drawing kids into the library through exciting programming, and rewarding them for reading with free books as prizes.
FAIR is free, and open to children ages 6-10 and their families. The dates for this FAIR series are Fridays, July 14, 21, 28 and August 4, 11, and 18. Each 90-minute session will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Sharon Public Library. Registration is required, and attendance at all 6 sessions is expected. To register, please contact Jessica Henderson, Children's Librarian at jhenderson@ocln.org or (781) 784-1578 ext. 1434.
