Sharon Firefighters Graduate From Massachusetts Fire Academy

SHARON, MA — Two Sharon Fire Department members are returning to duty after completing an intensive state training program.

Sean Scanlon and Eric Venditto graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s BW40 class after 10 weeks of training, according to the Sharon Fire Department.

During the 50-day program, recruits trained under non-fire and controlled-fire conditions. They demonstrated skills in life safety, search and rescue, ladder operations, water supply, pump operation and fire attack.

Graduates are now certified as Firefighter I and II and in hazardous materials operations.

The department congratulated Scanlon and Venditto and said they will return to their shifts to serve the Sharon community.

“Welcome back, and welcome to the best job in the world,” the department said.

The graduating class also included firefighters from Bourne, Braintree, Canton, Hull, Lakeville, Norfolk, Norton, Truro, Walpole, Wellfleet and Yarmouth.
