Five Things You Need to Know: Monday, Aug. 6

1. A TOUCH OF NIGHT IN THE DAY-Starry Night is being held today at the Sharon Public Library today from 2-2:45 p.m. The program is for ages seven and up and pre-registration is required. You will be able to create your own mixed media version of a starry night skyline. It will be held in the Cynthia B. Fox Community Room, Sharon Public Library.

2. SHE'S PERFECT-Sharon's Jacquelin Pierce graduated from Drexel University with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. She was one of more than 5,000 students to receive her degree at the University's 125th Commencement.

3. A NICE TIME FOR A NICE GUY-Bob Sondheim, the former Sharon High athletic director, will be "roasted" at the Saphire Estate in Sharon, Sunday, Sept. 23. His longtime friend and former recreation director David Clifton will be the emcee. Tickets are available for $25 and proceed to go to establish a scholarship for students pursing a career in sports broadcasting. Canned goods and non-perishable food items will also be collected for donation to the Ilsa Marks Food Pantry in Stoughton. Tickets must be purchased in advance and can be purchased at the Sharon Community Center or by contacting Ralph Generazzo at 781-784-8427, 414 N. Main St., Sharon, Ma 02067.
