Five Things You Need to Know: Wednesday, Aug. 1

1. HEY I KNOW THAT GUY-By day, he's a Sharon-based lawyer and Sharon Patch's legal columnist, but at night, Paul Izzo also plays in a rockin' band, Lovefest, who will be performing at the Lakeside Series tonight. He is joined in the band by fellow Sharon resident Ben Arnold. For those of us you remember the 1960s, you're in for a treat and Paul and his fellow bandmates play all the hits from that area. Spoiler alert: They're very good. Check them out tonight and say hi to Paul and Ben.

4. COLLEGE HONOR FOR UZZELL-Peter Uzzell of Sharon has been named to the dean's list at Paul Smith's College in Paul Smith, N.Y. for the spring 2012 semester. Uzzell, who majors in culinary arts and service management, earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction. Way to go Paul.
