Updates on Sharon's fireworks and other Independence Day activities are being posted on Twitter.

Sharon's fireworks are planned for 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 at Veteran's Memorial Park Beach, according to the Friends' website.

The events start at 3:45 p.m., when participants will line up at Beech Tree Park for a Bicycle and Doll Carriage Parade that starts at 4 p.m., the website says.

From 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., there will be food, and events such as carnival games, train rides on the Roaming Railroad, a climbing wall, hands-on animal exhibits from Sharon's Sunnyrock 4-H Club, and a performance by the Back Roads Band, according to the website.

There will be a pie-eating contest at 8:30 p.m. for contestants age 18 or older. First prize is $50.
