15 violent crimes were reported in Sharon last year, according to according new statistics released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The 2012 number is up from last year's total of four violent crimes.
The FBI's annual Uniform Crime Report includes information submitted by local law enforcement agencies. The information is compiled and released to the public in the fall of the year that follows the reported year. Violent crime, as defined by the report, includes murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault.
Sharon reported no forcible rapes, no robberies and 13 aggravated assaults.
In addition to violent crimes, Sharon reported 109 property crimes in 2012. There were 43 burglaries, 62 instances of larceny or theft and four motor vehicle thefts.
