Introduction to Mead Making
Leave with the tools needs and the knowledge to make your very own mead!

Mead has been around since at least 7000 B.C. making it the oldest fermented beverage ever produced. Today we are seeing a resurgence in the popularity of this beverage derived from honey.
In this hands-on class, you will learn everything you need to know to make mead in your own home. We will cover the history, styles, ingredients, equipment needed, and the process to make mead. We will also discuss
current bee conservation needs and the bee-friendly land and farm management practices at Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary. Leave the class with the basic kit needed to begin your own mead at home including 2 pounds of Moose Hill honey!
A number of styles of mead will be on-hand to sample that highlight the variety, complexity, and the creativity that goes into of making your own mead.
