Killer In 1993 Sharon Murder Denied Parole

Christopher Pucillo was sentenced to life in prison in 1995 for the 1993 death of 17-year-old Ralph James Tracey.

SHARON, MA — A former Wrentham man convicted of drowning a person in Sharon in 1993 will remain behind bars.

Christopher Pucillo, 40, was denied parole last month. He was sentenced to life in prison in 1995 for the 1993 death of 17-year-old Ralph James Tracey.

On June 3, 1993, Pucillo, Tracey, and others were drinking in a secluded area of town near Gavin's Pond. At about 9 p.m. Pucillo and the others made plans to attack Tracey, including sticking his head underwater and stabbing him in the neck. A local fisherman found the body the next day and Pucillo and the co-defendants were arrested.

During the hearing, Pucillo apologized to the Tracey family for the murder. He said he did not have any premeditated intention of killing Tracey and said he was drinking and using drugs on the night of the murder.

The board heard testimony from Pucillo's mother, former psychologist Dr. Hilary Ziven. Opposition testimony was given by the victim's sister, uncle, and Norfolk District Attorney Marguerite Grant. Sharon Police Chief Tilden S. Kaufman submitted a letter of opposition.
