Man Wanted for Child Rape May Try to Flee Country: Police

SHARON, MA — A man who is wanted for child rape and has ties to the area could be trying to leave the country, police said.

Erik Silva, who sometimes goes by the last name Almeida, is wanted by the Sharon Police Department. Three arrest warrants have been issued for rape of a child with force, rape of a child with a 10-year age difference, and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or old.

Police say his last known address was in Sharon and he has ties to Norwood.

The Sharon Police Department says they have received multiple tips for Silva's location but he remains at large. Police say they have reason to believe he could be in the area and receiving assistance from those closest to him. They also believe he could be trying to obtain documents to flee the country.
